AGM SEASON: BOARDS BRACE FOR ‘SAY ON CLIMATE’ RESOLUTIONS

  • The global trend for shareholder input on companies’ green transition plans is expected to feature during the upcoming AGM season, as boards brace for a wave of “say on climate” resolutions. The “say on climate” campaign, which was started by a British activist hedge fund, is calling on companies to publish a climate transition plan and give shareholders a vote on the contents. WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU ADD WOMEN TO THE C-SUITE

  • New research by Harvard Business Review shows that when women join the C-suite, they don’t just bring new perspectives – they actually shift how the C-suite thinks about innovation. Based on an analysis of more than 150 companies, the research found that after women join the top management team, firms become more open to change and less open to risk. They also tend to shift from an M&A-focused strategy to more investment into internal R&D. Read the full research here.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS – HERE TO STAY

  • It didn’t take long for companies to realise the importance of employee health benefits during the pandemic, and the impact they can have on their workforce. A new survey of 500 HR leaders and C-suite decision-makers found that 98 per cent plan to offer new, or expand at least one, benefit, due to lessons learned during this crisis.
