Renée Bertuch

Renée is highly valued by Boards and executives for her ability to provide considered strategic advice and deliver clear and effective messaging to media and financial audiences.

With over 20 years’ experience, Renée has expertise across strategic positioning, investor relations, capital market transactions, media relations and crisis and issues management.

Renée has led her team on transactions worth over AUS$3 billion, including the sale of Billabong to Oaktree, Boral Limited’s acquisition of US company Headwaters Inc., the recapitalisation of Lynas Corporation and the public offering of amaysim, Propertylink and Appen. Renée has provided media and issues management advice to Lynas Corporation, Sydney Desalination Plant, Luna Park and St Vincent’s.

Previously, Renée lived and worked in the United States as Group Head of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications for NYSE-listed sunglass company, Oakley Inc. She moved into this role following two years the Company’s Brand Manager in her native New Zealand.

Renée has also written and spoken for leading industry publications and at corporate events, such as a CEDA Briefing on Major Shifts in Crisis Management – The Impact of Social Media & Technology, the Women in Finance Australia Conference on Business Body Language for Influence, and the Herbert Smith Freehills Roundtable on Major Shifts in Crisis Management.

Passionate about the power of education and importance of inclusion, Renée is a member of the WPP AUNZ Diversity & Inclusion Council, Committee member of the Children’s Cancer Institute, and a mentor to several rising leaders.

An honours graduate in Business Management Studies from the University of Waikato, Renée also holds a Diploma of Book Editing and Publishing, Distinction from Macleay College, Sydney.
