Scott Rochfort

Scott provides strategic communications counsel and media relations support to a number of clients. He is known for his extensive knowledge of the media landscape and understanding of business and financial market information.

Joining Cannings in 2019, Scott brought more than 20 years’ experience in financial journalism, media relations and corporate affairs, with a range of government organisations, listed ASX companies, law firms, not-for-profit and multinational clients.

Previously, Scott spent more than a decade on the Sydney Morning Herald’s (SMH) Business section, and covered several sectors including aviation, listed-property, utilities, toll roads and infrastructure. He also edited the SMH’s respected CBD business diary column for several years.

Scott has worked for News Corp’s Daily Telegraph newspaper in Sydney, the Australian arm of the maritime newspaper Lloyd’s List and was the Australian columnist for the Nikkei Group-owned financial market information service, Quick. He’s also worked as a senior communications consultant to numerous ASX 50-listed companies, including QBE Insurance and Australian Real Estate Investment Trust (AREIT) The GPT Group, where he was Group Media Manager.

Scott has a bachelor’s degree majoring in Fine Arts and Near Eastern Archaeology from the University of Sydney.
